Guide Services

No one knows North Island rock better than Bryce. Bryce's is the only guiding service that has it all. Guides, New Zealand's only specialist rock climbing shop, on site accommodation, cafe and bouldering cave.

Just another day at the office

Bryce recommends you come the evening before; and over a coffee or a glass of wine you can spend some time discussing your requirements. Guiding (traditional, sports or a combination of the two), up-skilling, fears, problems? Let Bryce sort them out for you and give you an experience you'll never forget.

Cost is $440 a day for one or two people, extras at $50 each with a maximum of four, all equipment provided, huge choice (an ideal way to try before you buy). This is a flat rate so the day is as long or short as you decide. You call the shots, a leisurely day, hard out dawn-to-dusk, or anything in between, Bryce's basic philosophy is to have a fun-filled enjoyable day. All levels of fitness catered for.

Having fun!

The measurement of the day is not how hard you climbed or how many routes you climbed, but how much fun you had!

Dear Bryce and Wendy,

It is with extreme respect, gratitude and joy that we write this letter to you.

Your hospitality and pristine accommodations, set within the middle of the North Island, NZ country-side, compares with no beauty or serenity we have experienced anywhere else. We were thrilled that Wharepapa was centrally located, and within such a short drive to a gamut of beautiful, challenging and diverse climbing areas.

We would like to especially thank Bryce for his patience, experience, advice and overall guidance. The fact that you have been climbing for over 35 years, attests to your expert level of knowledge and outstanding safety standards, as we learned again, the night of our impromptu climbing safety class. (Thank you).

From your fully-equipped guest kitchen, to your comfy beds, and of course, to the exquisitely filling "Belayer's Breakfast", our stay was fantastic. The guiding, advice and safety lessons learned, will follow us on to our next climb and beyond.

Please consider both of us as extremely satisfied customers. We both hold the highest regard, in your abilities to provide a comfortable, safe, and memorable climbing experience, perhaps, the trip of a life-time.

All the best to you and yours.

Sincerely,

Eric & Kelly Robb
